Arriving at Chessington World of Adventures I was both intirgued and excited to see the recent developments within the park. I had heard that the Sealife building resembled a "porta cabin with a fish tank in it" so I was very pleased to see it was no such thing.

Situated to the right after you come in through the main entrance the Sealife is a welcome addition taking the place of the petting corner which used to house the goats who have now been moved to creature features.

The traditional blue and red colours are vibrant and fit in well with the ideas behind a theme park, in fact it reminded me of a circus tent as you're excited to see whats hidden inside with no windows to peak through.

You enter the building and immediately the experience begins with the opportunity to have a family photo taken against a themed background, then its on with the tour.

The overall layout is much the same as any other Sealife, taking you on a winding path around the aquarium and its various exhibits. The highlights include the Sting Rays swimming in an open top pool, a small area dedicated to the stars of Finding Nemo, and of course the tunnel walk where all kinds of sealife including sharks swim around, above and alongside you.

I enjoyed the whole experience and despite negative claims feel that although the building is of a temporary nature it doesnt feel that way and it certainly doesnt affect the experience. I think this is a very positive outcome of the recent collaboration of the Merlin group.
