What can you say about 'Black Buccaneer except that its the classic Galleon ride, where riders sit in a galleon themed boat which swings backwards and forwards giving a great sensation of air-time at the top of each swing. A similar ride at Thorpe Park can be found under the name of the 'Mr Monkeys Banana Ride' however unlike most of the rides found at Chessington 'Black Buccaneer' is actually the more thrilling of the two as its bigger and goes higher.

The Black Buccaneer origionaly opened at Chessington in 1987 under the name Smugglers Galleon (known as The Galleon for short). The name came in 2003 when the ride supports went from being painted brown to black.
