The Samurai was the first ride of its kind for the UK when it opened back in 1999 and it made a big impact. You sat in rows of 5 on what looks like a fan blade that rotated as the big arm rotated and also the row which you sat could roll over. Different combinations of these movements provided an excellent experience for riders and its easy to see why it became many peoples favorite ride at Chessington.
In 2004 though due to the Tussauds vision of making Thorpe Park a thrill seekers park and Chessington World of Adventures a family park the ride was moved to Thorpe.
